How To Split Firewood

So, are you warming up for the winter months? ...Or, you would LIKE to be prepared for them - with some nice firewood, to give the ability to have that cozy feeling when you get home from a hard day at work? Or, even if the day at work wasn't necessarily that HARD - but you busted your behind, still, whether it be through solving tough problems in physics or just stressing out. Whatever be the case - if you DO need to get some coziness when you get home, in this article you are going to get the stuff that you need. This article is going to teach you how to split fire wood. Sounds good? Why don't we get started...

First of all, obviously, you're going to need 1. Wood. 2. axe. Actually, if you want to learn how to be efficient with your energy - which might be a good thing to consider, as this can be a very energy consuming thing to do; if you're lacking in technique - then you really need to better your technique. It might sound obvious - and, of course, it IS obvious - but the question is not how easy it is to FIGURE OUT. ...The question is do you actually take the time to improve your technique? ...Or do you let pride take over, telling yourself that "ahh, what... of course I can cut firewood" -- even though you would be better off if you actually did take the time to focus on how to do it right? It's certainly something to think about; at least in my opinion.

Okay, so how do you actually split firewood? I talked about technique, and... the thing you need to realize is that, even though this seems like a tough thing to do, the less tough you are - and the more SMART you are - the less you're going to hurt from it. What this means is that, don't expend more energy than absolutely necessary. Focus on how to do that. The way to do this is to really feel, if, when you take a chug into the firewood, are you hurting? If something is hurting, just change your approach. Change the angle of your arm, change the way you stand - change everything, continuously mixing it up, whilst feeling the feedback that your body is giving you and then going by that feedback.

Use your wrist, to the highest degree possible - a degree which you will practise; so it isn't set in stone - to chop the wood.

So, those were some pointers on how to split firewood. I hope the question "how to split firewood" now feels a little more "answered" to you, and that you now know KIND OF the direction to go in in learning how to do it better.
