Firewood bundles can be purchased in bulk or in small amounts, or you can even make your own if you have a lot of trees on your property.

If you purchase firewood bundles in bulk, you typically buy a couple hundred from a business and then put them in a storage place.  The most common time for buying bulk firewood seems to be in the summer.  The reason for that is because there is no snow on trees, it isn't freezing outside so it's easier for the labor to get the resource, and also because there are numerous storms in the summer.  Which means, the wind and lightning may knock down trees, so not only is it good for the enviornment and for people who have the trees fallen over on their property, but you don't have to waste any trees in the process of gathering the resource.

You can also buy firewood bundles in small amounts at stores such as Wal-Mart or Dollar General.  Most lumps come with around eight logs, and are around three or four dollars.  The price is rather inflated, but you don't have to go through the process of finding a place to store the wood, and if you only need it for one or two fires, than you won't have a bunch of leftover wood that you don't need.  It's also much more convenient, you just run to the store, buy some wood, and that's that.  The wood is already gathered and distributed, you don't have to set an appointment for the wood to be delivered, and you can do this as often as you want, and you don't ever have to worry about running out of wood because the supply is constantly restocked.  Again, though, the price is the only downside.  It would be very expensive to constantly get your wood this way.

Or, if you have a lot of trees on your property, you can cut up one or two trees a year and supply yourself with your own wood.  The only downside is your yard might look a little silly if you cut out trees in random spots, so you would have to plan accordingly.  And eventually, unless you owned many acres of land, you would run out of trees, because it takes a very long time for trees to grow.  You would eventually run out of trees, But it's a good temporary soultion if you are running low on money and have a wood burning stove or fireplace.
